Artists and Sehnsucht on Ameland

In the month of November, the island Ameland invites more than hundred artists to participate in exhibitions scattered all over its beautiful landscape. This year, the 'Nomads of Sehnsucht', off which I'm part, will show work of six of its members, centered around the theme 'landscape with character' ("smoel"). My contribution consists of three works around my main theme, 're-discovering the romance of the hills', and shows three scenes taken with a plate camera in Saxon Switzerland. It was there that German artists and poets, most famous among them Caspar David Friedrich, discovered the 'romance of their hills'. It's still there, on the German - Czech border (but nature and landscape knows of no borders).

Our work is on view at 'Klein Vaarwater' entrance.
